Masters of rhythm, vibration and movement unite in Alonzo King’s most recent collaboration with classical Indian instrumentalists, Zakir Hussain and Sabir Khan. Hussain is a Grammy Award-winning classical tabla virtuoso from India who is widely considered a chief architect of the contemporary world music movement. Vocalist and ninth generation Sarangi master, Khan enthralls audiences across the globe with his rare combination of sur and laya (note and rhythm). Combined, the complex rhythmic systems of their music naturally partner with King's choreography to celebrate the long-standing continuity between transcendental Eastern thinking and Western ballet's classical forms and techniques.
