The Kronos Quartet and singer Meklit made a film of their recent collaboration on Zoe Mulford's The President Sang Amazing Grace.

The Violins of Hope, interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, have been kept safely under The Soraya stage for the past 7 months. In a farewell performance and interview on November 20, we say goodbye, for now, to these historic instruments that stand as a testament to resilience, now more than ever.

Delirium Musicum's Courtyard Concert series in Los Angeles turned out to be a spirit-lifting experience for the ones who attended at safe distance. This deeply human encounter through music was so powerful that we created MusiKaravan, the traveling 2.0 version of the Courtyard Concerts.

Reena Esmail's Piano Trio blurs the lines between Indian and Western classical music. Over four weeks, each broadcast will feature one of the chamber work’s four movements with comments by the artists, who last appeared together live at The Wallis earlier this year. The Wallis had the distinct pleasure of recording a live episode of NPR’s From the Top on March 4, 2020 in the Bram Goldsmith Theater. Ory Shihor conducted a virtual piano masterclass with four gifted students for the Music Teachers’ Association of California (MTAC) Virtual Convention (Program: Bach, Haydn, Liszt, and more). In addition, Ory gave two live lectures for piano teachers, students, and parents. All of the classes are accessible on The MTAC Convention website for FREE.

Watch Open Your Eyes: Lula Washington Dance Theatre on KCET's Artbound series. For Lula and Erwin Washington, the Lula Washington Dance Theatre is more than just a building or studio. It's a beacon of black ownership, a means in which to share a powerful message about race and society, and a necessary part of their community. The University of California, Los Angeles was where they started their revolution, and their partnership has kept their business and message strong over decades of work. Through years of collaboration, the duo has displayed dance not only as their art, but their activism.

Four of Matthew Bourne's Ballets are now available for streaming. 

The film PARKED documents a drive-in dance performance held on May 16, 2020 in Los Angeles. Produced and performed by Jacob Jonas The Company, PARKED features live music by Anibal Sandoval. The film, directed by Ivan Cash and Daniel Addelson, hopes to inspire viewers to reimagine how societal restrictions and limitations can be used as a bedrock for creativity.

Take a behind-the-scenes look at Heidi Duckler Dance's Illuminating the Chandelier, one of the first zoom-specific works of dance, which premiered in April 2020. 

Immediate Tragedy is a beautiful and timely collaboration between Wallis Alum Christopher Rountree of Wild Up and Martha Graham Dance. The work will be available to stream via the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts and Martha Graham's YouTube Channel.

Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust presents Theodore Bikel's The City of Light on Tuesday, November 10 at 11:00 am PT. In commemoration of the 82nd anniversary of Kristallnacht, join us for a presentation by Aimee Bikel, author of Theodore Bikel’s The City of Light, and widow of the beloved late actor, singer and activist. Based on a short story written by Theodore shortly before he died, Aimee Bikel’s book for readers of all ages poignantly recounts moments from Theo’s childhood. Set in Vienna in 1937-1938 during Nazi Germany’s annexation of Austria and Kristallnacht, “The Night of Broken Glass,” a young Jewish boy watches the destruction and violence while hiding behind the curtains with his parents. 

The Influencer, an original musical by The Miracle Project, is now available to stream on Broadway on Demand.  

L.A. Theatre Works' mission is to record and preserve great performances of important stage plays, using new technology to make world-class theatre accessible to the widest possible audience, and to expand the use of theatre as a teaching tool. With Story Pirates' after-school programming, kids can reconnect with their own creativity and imagination, driving a new kind of fun and learning you won't get anywhere else. Also, every Friday, Story Pirates will host a virtual improv comedy show for Creator Club families.

Creating a Character: The Moni Yakim Legacy is available now through Virtual Cinemas! The new documentary takes you inside the rehearsal room with legendary movement guru Moni Yakim, one of the founders of Juilliard's Drama Division who has taught generations of theater icons from Patti LuPone, to Alex Sharp. The Hollywood Reporter calls it "a must-see for anyone interested in acting & the theater."
