For nearly 20 years, the Los Angeles Ballet has captivated the City of Angels with its daring creativity, elegance, and breathtaking artistry. Now, LAB prepares for this milestone with a triple bill of iconic works and undaunted new beginnings, all brimming with heart and playfulness.
The evening includes Balanchine’s jazz-infused delight Rubies—an energetic reprise from LAB’s first-ever season. Hans Van Manen’s Frank Bridge Variations pairs Benjamin Britten’s lush score with an abstract expression of sensuality and, at times, explosive emotion. It is a powerful blend of classicism, spirited wit, and modern intensity.
Finally, in a moment charged with anticipation, LAB’s Artistic Director Melissa Barak unveils a world premiere, showcasing the forward-motion that continues to define the company.
