The Miracle Project (TMP) Live! is a unique performance troupe comprised of individuals with and without disabilities creating and rehearsing original songs to perform at venues and events around Los Angeles (performances like CBS’ Stephanie’s Day and the Special Olympics). Ten students will be selected to participate in the program. Performances will be staged, choreographed, and rehearsed. A parent group will assist with performances. Students will learn audition skills and vocal techniques so they can be competitive within the theatre community.
Classes take place Tuesdays from 5:00 – 6:00pm beginning the week of January 19th and ending the week of May 17th.
TMP Live! is a level 3 class. Participants must be able to take direction with minimal support and have experience participating in a group. For beginning, intermediate, and level 1 and 2 classes in the miracle project methodology, please contact Ryan Berman at ryan@themiracleproject.org.
About The Miracle Project
Founded in 2004 by TV/Film Acting Coach and Inclusion Activist, Elaine Hall, The Miracle Project is a groundbreaking, fully inclusive, musical theater, film, and expressive arts program for students of all abilities profiled in Emmy Award winning documentary, AUTISM: THE MUSICAL. Students with and without disabilities express themselves through music, dance, acting, and story while working together to create and star in an original musical. The Miracle Project’s unique methodology provides individuals with autism the tools to build communication, social skills, community and greater self-esteem. By focusing on strengths rather than deficits, the highly skilled staff and trained volunteers bring out the best in everyone.
In a recent study sponsored by the NEA, The Miracle Project has been found as an evidence-based intervention in easing anxiety, increasing confidence, and self-esteem for those on the autism spectrum. The Miracle Project has inspired similar programs throughout L.A., in New York City, and across the U.S. Selected by LA Parent as Editor’s Choice, The Miracle Project has been lauded by Autism Speaks, Autism Society of America, and Autism experts including Temple Grandin, Dr. Stephen Shore, Dr. Barry Prizant, and T. Berry Brazelton for its innovation and inclusion methodologies.
