Trusting Love: The Musical- Spring Session
GRoW
Jan 16, 2018 - Jun 3, 2018
About the course:
This course is an advanced level rehearsal and performance class for all abilities and will include professional actors. Participants will be part of The Wallis Community and have access to all the opportunities that this partnership provides.
Participants must be able to take direction and participate in a fast-paced, semi-professional performance class.
Following auditions and callbacks, classes will begin on Tuesday, January 16th, 2018 and end after the performances in early June. Classes are held on Tuesday nights with some additional rehearsals as opening night approaches. Production and rehearsal schedule will be provided once the show is cast. There will be a minimum of four performances of the production at the end of the course in the Lovelace Studio Theater at The Wallis from late May to early June. Selected scenes will be shown at The Miracle Project’s Gala in late May. If you have questions about this course, please email Ryan Berman at ryan@themiracleproject.org
The tuition for Trusting Love is $800. If you would like financial assistance, please submit a letter to Ryan at ryan@themiracleproject.org requesting a scholarship from The Miracle Project and explaining your financial situation.
For other classes for beginning, intermediate students, and level 1 and 2 classes in The Miracle Project methodology, developed by Elaine G.F. Hall, please contact Ryan Berman at ryan@themiracleproject.org.
PLEASE NOTE: The Miracle Project is an interactive, social, dynamic, program.
If your child is accompanied by a 1:1 aid in school or in the community OR is not toileted or independently able to use the bathroom, we do require that your attend class with an aid. Please note that even if your child does not require a 1:1 in a small-contained school environment, he/she may need more support in this very active, inclusive, social environment. The Miracle Project and The Wallis staff reserve the right to request professional support if we feel your child needs the support to be able to be successful in class. Although the class will include volunteers to act as a peer role model and co-actor, the volunteers are NOT professionals, and may not be expected to take the place of a paid professional interventionist.
ALSO, please note that in the event that you do not provide a 1:1 support person, we do reserve the right to require you to do so if we feel that it is necessary as a result of our observation during the program.
And finally, if it is determined that any participant is unable to remain for the duration of the program on any or all days, we will contact you to pick up your child - of course after we make reasonable attempts to engage him/her.
If you have any questions about this, please contact Ryan Berman: ryan@themiracleproject.org
About Auditions:
We are casting teens and young adults, with and without disabilities, who are interested in musical theatre, singing, dancing, and acting. A short application is required, followed by auditions and interviews at The Wallis. Students should be prepared to sing 16 bars of a song and, if they choose, prepare a one-minute monologue to present at the audition. If you are interested in auditioning for this course, please fill out the below application.
