Join Film Independent and The Wallis for An Evening With…The Costumes of Poor Things with costume designer Holly Waddington, whose career spans dressing the President and his wife in Lincoln to mapping a woman’s journey to sartorial independence in Yorgos Lanthimos’ newest feature, which has garnered 11 Academy Award nominations including Best Picture and Best Costume Design. See the costumes in person, and learn about the creation and execution of the memorable costuming worn by Bella Baxter, played by Emma Stone, and get a behind the scenes look at the haute couture of awards season’s most fashionable film.
The conversation will be moderated by Trish Summerville.
Holly Waddington’s costume designs for film and TV include the pilot episode of Hulu’s "The Great," written and produced by Tony McNamara; Lady Macbeth, directed by William Oldroyd (which won the BIFA for Best Costume and was nominated for a Critics Circle Award for Technical Achievement for Costume); Ginger and Rosa by Sally Potter; and Departure by Andrew Steggall.
