The Wallis Presents
STEWART GOODYEAR, PIANO: PHOENIX
Oct 15, 2022
7:30 PMAs a phoenix obtains new life by rising from the ashes of its predecessor, the works in Stewart Goodyear’s Wallis debut piano concert obtain new life by arising from the sound world, past traditions, and gestures of Franz Lizst. Listen to virtuosic splashes of color created by Debussy, the urban landscape constructed by Jennifer Higdon, the intense improvisation and haunting dissonant starkness by Anthony Davis, or the pianism in a new work by Goodyear that pays tribute to his Trinidadian roots.
